In the Second Year of Master of Arts in Psychology Programme, you must choose one speciality from the three available. There are three types of psychology. They include clinical psychology, counselling psychology, and industrial and organisational psychology. There are practical courses associated with each of the specialisation areas.
Thus, there is a Practicum in Clinical Psychology (MPCE 014), a Practicum in Counseling Psychology (MPCE 024), and a Practicum in Organizational Behavior (MPCE 034). Each of these courses is six credits in length.
The practicals will be held in the psychology laboratories located in the study centres. Psychological exams and other assessments will be taught in the laboratory during contact classes. Practicals should be meticulously documented in the practical note book. This note book must be evaluated and signed by the academic counsellor assigned to the student. The actual conduct of practicals and documentation in the practical note book (internal assessment) is worth 50% of the grade, while the term end practical examination, including the viva voce (external assessment) is worth 50% of the grade.
